D-Orbit is looking for a Business Systems & Continuous Improvement Lead to join our Operational Excellence – PMO team, based in Fino Mornasco, Italy.
In this role, you will drive initiatives that improve how D-Orbit operates, enabling standardized processes, shared tools, and reliable data across all Business Units and corporate functions. You will oversee the end-to-end delivery of strategic PMO programs, from identifying business needs and defining solutions to implementation, supplier management, and organizational adoption.
You will work closely with process owners, business unit leaders, corporate functions, IT teams, and external partners to optimize the company’s enterprise systems landscape and continuous improvement portfolio. Your contribution will be instrumental in strengthening operational excellence, supporting scalable growth, and ensuring the successful deployment of key initiatives, including the ERP transformation program, as the first area of focus.
Key responsibilities
Lead cross-functional projects end to end: scope, plan, budget, risks, stakeholders, handover and benefit tracking
Manage the implementation and evolution of the ERP and of the wider enterprise systems landscape, including integration with adjacent platforms (PLM, procurement, time recording, engineering and quality tools). Manage system integrators and software suppliers: statements of work, acceptance criteria, milestones and change control.
Translate business requirements into functional specifications, challenging them where a process change is a better answer than a system change.
Maintain a consolidated, company-side view of programme scope, progress, dependencies and risks across the functions involved.
Map and analyse cross-functional processes, quantify the case for change, and build the improvement pipeline with the Head of PMO and the process owners.
Define and track the KPIs that measure whether an initiative delivered what it promised
Report progress, risks and decisions to the Head of PMO and to the relevant governance bodies.
Requirements
Essential
Degree in Management Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems or a related field
5+ years in project management, business process improvement, or a comparable role
Experience leading programmes delivered with external consultants or system integrators from the client side, including scope and change management
Solid understanding of core industrial processes: procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, project control
Ability to work across functions without hierarchical authority — influencing, negotiating and building consensus among stakeholders with differing priorities
Full professional proficiency in both Italian and English is mandatory.
Desirable
Hands-on experience of at least one full ERP implementation or major evolution cycle, in a business-side or functional role
Exposure to Lean / Six Sigma or equivalent process improvement methods
Experience in a project-driven manufacturing environment (aerospace, defence, industrial equipment)
What we look for in the person
Comfortable with ambiguity: able to turn a vaguely stated business problem into a defined project
Pragmatic — favours a working solution adopted by everyone over a perfect one adopted by no one
Credible with both shop floor and management, and willing to spend time understanding a process before redesigning it
Persistent: internal change projects are won in the follow-up, not in the kick-off
We offer a base salary range of 40.000-55.000 € gross per year for this role, depending on experience and location, plus a performance-based variable component. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, location, and internal consistency across comparable roles.
Additional Benefits
Meal vouchers
Variable compensation
Wellhub platform, offering a wide range of fitness, wellness, and wellbeing services
Serenis platform, including unlimited individual psychotherapy, nutrition, and coaching sessions
Flexible working arrangements, including smart working options and flexible scheduling based on role and team requirements
